You must use the CMS form for DME reimbursement, which can be found with instructions at https://www.cms.gov/Medicare/CMS-Forms/CMS-Forms/Downloads/CMS1490S-ENGLISH-Instructions-DME.pdf. BraceLab’s receipt (order confirmation) must be attached which has the correct code for filing (L3924-CG: Hand finger orthosis, without joints, may include soft interface, straps, prefabricated, off-the-shelf).
Contact your insurer to obtain the correct form to request reimbursement. Whether your insurer requires the “CG” modifier will vary, so you will need to ask them which code is appropriate: L3924-CG or L3924. Following these guidelines does not guarantee reimbursement; that is the decision of each insurer.
I cant believe how great this works! Its been a game changer for sure! My orthopedic surgeon recommended I try it. It's been a month and I love it. I can write again, and do so much more virtually pain free! The tingling and sensitivity is gone. I can easily slip a disposable vinyl glove over it for doing dishes and gardening. The only time I take it off is for showering and at night (I wear a fabric brace at night for comfort). Well worth the money!
I have tried so many things to deal with my basal joint pain, nothing has worked, even the most expensive splints from the doctor didn't work. This, THIS works. It doesn't take all the pain away, but it makes it so much more manageable. The searing hot knife pain is gone. It's worth the price.
as a hand therapist I have to admit i was skeptical about not having my MP joint included but this does a great job of supporting my CMC due to inflammation and a bit of arthritis. I recommend this to my patients as well.
Use a soft measuring tape to measure the circumference of your hand just below the knuckles of all fingers, excluding the thumb. Choose the appropriate size from the chart. NOTE: This measurement is only a guideline for determining size, as it cannot take into account the size/shape of your thumb. If your measurement is near the size break point, only trying on both sizes can allow you to determine the best fit.
If the Push MetaGrip does not fit snuggly or is too snug, you may exchange the Push MetaGrip for another size if:
You are responsible for return shipping costs for a size exchange, but HandLab will ship your replacement free of charge. BraceLab reserves the right to refuse your exchange if you do not follow these procedures.
The Push MetaGrip is not intended for all problems of the thumb. We strongly recommend you be measured and have the fit evaluated by a medical professional.
1. Before applying the Push MetaGrip to your hand the first time, gently bend the metal insert SLIGHTLY outward so the thumb area is somewhat larger.
2. Open the straps.
3. Slide your fingers and thumb into the brace and push the brace as far down on your thumb as possible.
4. Gently, but firmly, close the straps; do NOT pull them tightly.
5. Touch your thumb tip to your index fingertip, making a gentle “O” shape, but BE SURE your thumb muscles are relaxed and the thumb joints are slightly flexed.
6. Look directly into your palm to be sure your thumb is not too far across your palm or too far out of your palm but in a mid-position.
7. With your thumb in the mid-position and relaxed, squeeze the metal insert firmly so it snuggly fits around the muscles of your thumb.
The Push MetaGrip can be machine washed on gentle cycle at low temperature. Place the brace in a mesh laundry bag and be sure the straps are closed. DO NOT add bleach. DO NOT dry in dryer or wash/dry in a dishwasher.
